Re-Source is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. Please read this privacy policy carefully.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account using Google Sign-In, we collect:
- Email address from your Google account
- Name (if provided via Google Sign-In)
- Profile picture URL from your Google account
- Google account ID for authentication purposes
1.2 User-Generated Content
The core functionality of Re-Source involves organizing your resources. We collect and store:
- Resource information: Titles, descriptions, and URLs you save
- Categories: Custom category names and colors you create
- Images: Custom images you upload for resources
- Timestamps: When resources are added or accessed
- Organization preferences: How you organize your resources
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
Our app and third-party services automatically collect:
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, screen size
- Usage data: App features used, screen views, user engagement metrics
- Crash data: Error logs and crash reports for app stability
- Analytics data: App usage patterns and performance metrics
1.4 Advertising Data
For advertising purposes, the following data is collected:
- Advertising ID: AAID (Android) or IDFA (iOS)
- IP address
- Ad interaction data: Views, clicks, and engagement with ads
- Approximate location: Country-level location
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Account Management: Authenticate users and manage accounts via Firebase Authentication
- Core Functionality: Store and organize your resources, categories, and images
- User Experience: Display recent resources, sort by access time, and provide search functionality
- App Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to enhance features and fix bugs
- Advertising: Display personalized advertisements through Google AdMob
- Security: Protect against unauthorized access and maintain data integrity
3. Data Storage and Cloud Services
Important: Re-Source stores all user data in the cloud using Firebase services (Google Cloud Platform). Your data is NOT stored locally on your device.
3.1 Firebase Services
We use the following Firebase services to provide app functionality:
- Firebase Authentication: Manages user accounts and authentication
- Cloud Firestore: Stores your resources, categories, and metadata
- Firebase Storage: Stores images you upload
- Firebase Analytics: Tracks app usage and user engagement
- Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports for bug fixes
All data transmitted to Firebase is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Firebase servers are located in Google Cloud Platform data centers, and the region may vary.
4. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
4.1 Google Services
Re-Source integrates with several Google services:
- Google Sign-In: Handles user authentication via OAuth 2.0
- Firebase (Google): All Firebase services share data with Google as the infrastructure provider
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): Serves advertisements and collects advertising data
4.2 Advertising and Ad Networks
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. AdMob may:
- Collect your advertising ID, IP address, and device information
- Share data with Google's advertising partners and ad networks
- Use collected data to serve personalized advertisements
- Track ad views, clicks, and conversions
Opt-Out: You can opt out of personalized advertising by going to your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
- iOS: Settings → Privacy → Advertising → Limit Ad Tracking
4.3 External Websites (WebView)
When you open resource links through the app's WebView, the destination website may collect standard web browsing data (IP address, user agent, cookies). Re-Source does not control or receive data from these external websites.
4.4 No Data Selling
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is only shared with Google (as our service provider) and advertising partners through AdMob as described above.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the app and servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Firebase Security Rules: Access controls restrict data access to authenticated users only
- Authentication: Secure OAuth 2.0 authentication via Google Sign-In
- Regular Updates: Security patches through Firebase SDK updates
6. Data Retention
We retain your information as follows:
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
- User Content: Retained until you delete it or delete your account
- Analytics Data: Retained for up to 14 months (Firebase Analytics default)
- Crash Logs: Retained for 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics default)
- Advertising Data: Managed by Google AdMob (typically 60-90 days)
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: View all your saved resources and data within the app
- Modification: Edit or update your resources and categories at any time
- Deletion: Delete individual resources, categories, or your entire account
- Data Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
- Advertising Opt-Out: Disable personalized ads through device settings
7.1 Account Deletion
To delete your account and all associated data:
- Open the Re-Source app
- Navigate to Profile → Settings
- Select "Delete Account"
- Confirm deletion
All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers immediately. Note that anonymized analytics data may be retained as described in Section 6.
8. Children's Privacy
Re-Source is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will promptly delete such information.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States, where Google Cloud Platform data centers are located. By using Re-Source, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
- Displaying a notice within the app
- Sending an email notification (if applicable)
Your continued use of Re-Source after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
